My Approach
Strategist. Activist. Artist.
I operate at the intersection of culture, ideology, and communication. My work begins with a single conviction: the stories we tell about people determine how those people are treated. Change the story, and you change the world they inhabit.
As a corporate strategist, I build frameworks that allow organisations to move from reactive positioning to deliberate, values-driven narratives. As an activist, I focus on the root cause – not the symptom. As an artist, I use film and storytelling to make the invisible visible.
Co-building. Collaboration. Workshop. Presentation. Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), and actively learning British Sign Language (BSL) and International Sign. Languaging is profoundly human and enriching. I would be honoured to travel and meet you where you are.
Experience
Ryan has held senior strategic roles across the Deaf sector – at Convo, where he currently serves as Head of Global Strategy, and previously at Sorenson Communications and Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD). He has also consulted on brand strategy at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind (CSDB). Alongside his strategic work, he has produced several short films, the most notable being Gallaudet and Media, Power, Ideology: Re-Presenting D-E-A-F.
